Train the Trainer
The AAIA is about to inaugurate a Train the Trainer Program
We are pleased to announce that our Train the Trainer Program is about to be offered across Canada in the form of face-to-face training or distance training. It is designed for experienced or professional volunteers who would like to perfect their knowledge and join the AAIA Training Volunteers team.
This had been in our minds ever since we developed new educational materials to help train others, namely: the AAIA Asthma Reference Kit and the AAIA Anaphylaxis Reference Kit.
It comes from a simple idea: we should “train the trainer” with our materials approved by the Canadian Society of Allergy and Clinical Immunology. A team of well trained volunteers could spread education across Canada and make a difference.
We are now in a position to call upon volunteers to register in our Train the Trainer Program and be attested as AAIA Training Volunteers. They will be working with leaders in schools, communities, organizations, industry and the government to prepare them to teach others about allergy, asthma and/or anaphylaxis.
To undertake the Train the Trainer Program, volunteers can register at any time and follow their own pace. Depending on previous knowledge and availability, training can take from one to three months.
Our Train the Trainer Program includes a series of training topics offered with free educational materials, documentation, instructions and an exercise manual. Volunteers can rely on the regional coordinators to act as their tutors, and extra materials are available from the volunteers’ Web site.
At the end of the program, each volunteer passes a final evaluation to assess the effectiveness of the training. This is required to obtain a certificate of authorization to use our materials and make presentations to Train the Trainer on our behalf.
Do you believe education is the key to making a world of difference? Do you possess a good knowledge of the AAIA, allergy, asthma or anaphylaxis? Call your regional coordinator or contact us now at for more information or to register in our Train the Trainer Program.
